Books and much, much more
Could there be anything more interesting than good, and beautifully illustrated book? Thousands of valuable books, plus meetings with authors, publishers and illustrators, publisher's releases, workshops, performances, exhibitions and contests for children. These and many other attractions are waiting for the visitors of the XI edition of the Poznań Trade Fair Meetings - Books for Children and Young People, which will be held between 3-5 February 2012.
The event taking place on the grounds of Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie is the first fair event in Poland devoted entirely to children literature. Its main aim is to promote reading among children and their families, and the magic of books is revealed by writers, distinguished illustrators, publishers, educators and representatives of cultural institutions.
The fair offer is aimed both at professionals - publishers, illustrators, writers, booksellers, librarians, academics, and the general public - children, teenagers, their parents and carers. The jubilee tenth edition of the fair, held under the same roof with the Educational Fair, was attended by 45 thousand of visitors.
World of books from the backstage
Poznań Trade Fair Meetings show the value and diversity of the literature for children and teenagers. The exhibitors' team include leading publishing houses, museums and cultural institutions. The fair hosts the most famous stars of the Polish children's literature. Each year there are many foreign publishers, and attractive publications for little bookworms are presented e.g. at the stands of Poznań's partner cities.
Attractions not only for kids
At the fair you can not only see the most valuable books for young readers, get autographs of their authors, and talk to the illustrators, but you can also buy the latest releases at attractive prices. The unusual fair atmosphere is also due to the many accompanying events such as conferences, discussion panels, imaginative workshops for children, performances, competitions and games. Some attractions - meetings with authors, workshops in libraries, schools and cultural centers - take place across the city. And the children with their parents are arriving to the fair grounds by a Fairytale Tram.
